iCloud tabs not closing!

Few days ago, I logout my Apple ID from my MacBook but I forgot to close a tab in Safari. Now I re-login into my MacBook with the same Apple ID and there is no tab opened in Safari but my iPhone's Safari browser showing that there is a opened tab in my MacBook but in real, there is no such tab open. Although MacBook not showing any tab. Now, if I open a tab in MacBook, my iPhone shows that tab along with the tab I forgot to close before logout my MacBook. I'm inserting a Screenshot of my iPhone.

Here, iPhone showing MacBook Pro (1) and (2) but I have login into one MacBook.

MacBook Pro (2)'s tab is the one which I forgot to close in MacBook before logout my Apple ID.

Any solution for this issue?

iPhone 13, iOS 16

Hello all,

I've had the same issue, where Safari tabs from previous months on my Mac were still apearing on my iCloud tabs on my iphone.

I've tried clearing website data, both on my iphone and Mac, closing Safari, restarting. These didn't work on their own.

What worked for me was un-syncing Safari from iCloud:

  1. Clear Safari website data, on your Mac, iphone and other devices sharing your iCloud account. Close them.
  2. On your iphone, Settings, go to your Apple ID / iCloud / Apps Using iCloud / Safari, and untoggle it. Confirm your data to be removed from your iphone. Wait a minute
  3. Toggle Safari syncing back on
  4. Open Safari on your iphone and wait a few minutes whilst it syncs. Your iCloud tabs should now mirror the ones from your other devices and should be as current.

Problem solved for me. I hope it helps you all

Hi mdshoaib8342,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that a tab that's no longer open on your Mac shows on iPhone. This likely is available since you left the tab open and may have picked up your iPhone. Close Safari and relaunch it. If it continues to show the closed tab, restart iPhone to refresh your running processes. Clear website data if you still see the tab.

Clear website data

You can clear website data occasionally to improve Safari performance.
1. Go to Settings > Safari.
2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.
3. Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Regards.
