Apple Care for a Verizon Phone

Going to get a new iPhone from Verizon because they are offering a huge discount that can't get at Apple. When I purchase the new phone, can I then buy Apple Care from the Apple Store?

Getting AppleCare Through a Third-Party:

Ask Verizon: Verizon may have their own method of you purchasing AppleCare through their cash register. It would be a matter of affiliation between the two companies. When it comes to selling Apple products, a load of retailers only permit the purchase of AppleCare, rather than selling a protection plan of their own.
