Home and Apple speaker
For some reason my apple speaker no longer works. I keep getting prompts to set it up in Home (it was for years), but it fails every time.

HomePod
Just to be sure I understand, by "Home" are you referring to the Apple Home App, and by "Apple speaker" are you referring to either an Apple HomePod or HomePod mini speaker?
If so, what have you tried, so far yourself, to resolve this so that we don't offer potential solutions that may not have already worked for you?
If you're experiencing difficulties adding your Apple HomePod to the Home app, here are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check compatibility: Ensure that your HomePod is compatible with the device you're using to set it up. HomePod requires an iOS device running iOS 11.2.5 or later or a Mac running macOS 10.14.3 or later.
2. Check network connectivity: Make sure your HomePod and the device you're using for setup are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Update software: Ensure that your iOS device or Mac is running the latest software version.
4. Restart your devices: Try restarting both your HomePod and the device you're using to set it up. Power off your HomePod by unplugging it, wait for a few seconds, then plug it back in. For your iOS device or Mac, follow the standard restart procedure.
5. Reset HomePod: If restarting doesn't work, you can try resetting your HomePod to its factory settings. To do this, follow these steps:
- Unplug your HomePod and wait for ten seconds.
- Plug it back in, and when the white light appears, touch and hold the top of the HomePod.
- Keep holding until you hear a sound, and the light on top of the HomePod turns red.
- Release your finger, and your HomePod will reset.
6. Set up HomePod again: After resetting your HomePod, try setting it up again using the Home app.
7. Check router settings: Some routers may have specific settings that can interfere with HomePod's connectivity. Check your router's documentation or settings to ensure that features like MAC address filtering, guest networks, or network isolation are not causing any conflicts.
8. If all of the steps above fail to resolve the problem, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly. To do so just select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.
