IMac shut down ok, but now will not start up

Thanks for your response.

I unplugged everything tried different outlets w/out the surge protector. Unplugged the connector on the back of the iMac, so far nothing has made any difference. Still no response from the on/off switch.

I tried other outlets outlets and the surge protector has a printer connected that is ON, I scheduled an appt at the local Apple Store
