My Retouch tool in iPhoto stopped working-- anyone had the same problem?
iMac 27″, macOS 13.3
I, too, have experienced the slow response a few times, but other than that retouch works fine for me, as well. As for the slowness, usually quitting and re-opening Photos seems to help.
What has changed before you took the new photos? Did you change the image format? Are the recent photos HEIC and the older Jpegs, or vice versa? Are you using iCloud Photos?If yes, are you using Optimize Storage?
Is your Photos Library on an external disk or on the internal disk of your Mac?
In what way is the Retouche tool not working?
Some users reported here, that the retouch effect is not exported, when exporting the images. Is it the same problem? Or is the Retouch tool doing nothing or causing crashes?
I just tested on my Mac with Ventura, there the retouching is working as expected, but I have to wait a few moments to see the effect. It is taking longer than before.
Thank you for your thoughts. The retouch tool is just not working on new photos. Funny-- it works on older photos but not recent ones. All taken with the same iPhone.
Thanks, I have shut it the computer down and still the retouch will not function on my recent photos.
