Photos keeps assigning the wrong name to certain people. Clicking "not this person" and assigning another name does not solve the issue. After a while, the manually inserted name disappears, and the faces are assigned to the previous name again. The issue occurs on my Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1 device, iPad OS 16.4.1, and my iPhone with iOS 16.4.1. All devices are configured with the same Apple ID and use iCloud Photos.
Rename both people, Dick and Jane, temporary with new, different nicknames. There must not remain any reference for one of the photos to the previous Contacts card. Only then will Photos learn again correctly what the two people are looking like.
I have what seems to be the same problem. Dick somehow became Jane. Even after correcting the photo(s), Dick remains known as Jane. For a brief moment, Dick shows up as a separate person but then his bubble disappears. Thinking of removing Jane from people and pets but I’m not sure what will happen.
Apple, any ideas?
