Homekit not working on MacBook or iPad

since updating my home app on my iPhone, I can longer see or control my home from the home app on neither my MacBook nor my iPad. All are on same iCloud account and apple account and all seem to be fully software updated. Any ideas?

Thanks for this reply. As far as I can tell the iPad and macbook are updated. But they are older items so maybe cannot update to latest software. I'll look into this. Last night my iphone, and that of my wife, was working perfectly but today every single accessory is not responding. I am having endless.troubles with this homekit apple platform. Very frustrating. From being 100% operational it becomes suddenly completely non responsive. Last night the phone remained on same network and on charge. Very frustrating.

My iPad Mini 4 was shipped in August 2019. It doesn't support IOS 16, hence it now will not work with HomeKit. Less than 5 years old and a major application (HomeKit) is no longer supported on my "obsolete iPad". I am trying to figure out why I would waste my money on a new iPad? I think I will just go with a cheapo Android tablet from now on. Getting a little sick of how hard Apple is pushing its user base to upgrade hardware.

Hi Vancouver22. The older devices definitely won't connect. But it's still strange on my iphone 13 with fully updated software. One minute works perfectly then all of a sudden all of the accessories have a no response. In addition all the autations stop working. Then some time later seems to rectify itself but automation have to cancel led and reloaded...only to be non functional again some time later. Very frustrating.

Each time I open the app all accessories say updating every time. Then either they become accessible or go into no response.

The accessories are always available in their own app on same network.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your previous assistance.

The upgrade was optional and would have shown you could no longer use the Home App on older devices not running the latest software. Whatever device you used to do the upgrade affected all other devices. My iPad Air 2 got locked out but I knew that it would and didn’t need this iPad for that. The instructions might not have been clear for some.
