if the country of residence supports ESIM and I traveled to another country that doesn't support ESIM, I wanna know if my phone will work and I can make calls or not, as is without buying a nano SIM?

You may want to check with your carrier if they have a special roaming plan for use when you are out of country. That way, you can make calls without any significant charges.
