Mac mini M2 cannot be woken up from sleep when connected to a display using USB-C to DisplayPort.

Mac mini M2 does not wake up using usb-c to DP, but works fine using HDMI to HDMI. I know this was the case with the M1 before, does anyone else have the same problem with the Mac mini M2 as I do?

Here is the list of my environment and devices

  • OS : macOS Ventura 13.3.1
  • Monitor : ASUS TUF GAMING VG289Q
  • Cable: moshi USB-C to DisplayPort Cable

Hi hcsitas,

Thank you for your reply.

I tried to change the USB-C to DisplayPort cable yesterday and the problem was solved!

Looking at the system information, I found that the two cables are different.

The original one is recognized by the system as Thunderbolt port -> not working

The later one is recognized as USB-C -> works fine
