USB SuperDrive not working?

I tried using a brand new USB SuperDrive for the first time. I bought it two years ago when I bought my iMac 24 inch. I bought it because the iMac no longer had the tray for dvds. The disc will not go all the way into the SuperDrive. What do I do?

Thank you for your response.

When I clicked on what you said, the SuperDrive does show up, which means that the systems OS sees it. What does it mean that the system sees it but I can't get the disc in?

Open the “About this Mac” and then select system report. Then look for usb tab, select this, then look to see if system sees the SuperDrive. If it doesn’t show up here, the systems OS won’t see it either.

try another usb on system, does it show up now ?

if not try SuperDrive on another system, if it doesn’t see it the SuperDrive, time to take to Apple genius or call the 1-800-MY-APPLE
