Air tags re-pairing to another Apple ID?

I had installed an AirTag in my car connected to my old Apple ID.I however bought a new iPhone and migrated it to my new Apple ID .So I removed it form the old Apple ID and now I am unable to pair it with my new Apple ID . I had removed it form my old Apple ID when the car was out of reach and now I am unable to pair it either with the old or the new Apple ID.It makes a beeping sound every time I get in the car and I am unable to retrieve it because its disappeared somewhere deep inside the car where I can't retrieve it.Its not showing in my old Apple ID as well.

PS:No option to select air tags under topics

Hey Sanjeev.Vyas,

In order to pair the AirTag with a new Apple ID, you would need to reset the AirTag.

This article explains how: How to reset your AirTag - Apple Support

"Here's how to reset your AirTag:

  1. Press down on the polished stainless steel battery cover of your AirTag and rotate counterclockwise until the cover stops rotating.
  2. Remove the cover and the battery.*
  3. Replace the battery.
  4. Press down on the battery until you hear a sound. This sound means that the battery is connected.
  5. When the sound finishes, repeat the process four more times, removing and replacing the battery, then pressing down on the battery until you hear a sound. You should hear a sound each time you press on the battery, for a total of five sounds. The fifth sound is different from the previous four. This indicates that the AirTag is now ready to pair.
  6. Replace the cover by aligning the three tabs on the cover with the three slots on your AirTag.
  7. Press down on the cover.
  8. Rotate the cover clockwise until it stops rotating."

If you're unable to physically locate the AirTag, there would not be additional options available.

Thanks!
