Perhaps this can help - this document describes how you can download the content you are storing in iCloud: Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud - Apple Support

Once you archive your data somewhere else, you can weed out the iCloud storage.

Once you have nothing to add to discussion, don’t join the conversation. Just to tell me that my English is not enough for you. (Is flaming not recognized by Apple community) So either bring up content related questions or be aware that any other interaction is not welcomed.

Apple does not allow editing of original message. That is sometimes counterproductive.

Thx for your help! Truly remarkable human being. Was right on spot. Not taking care of my frustration :) based on Google giving me most searched answers rather than relative for my case.

So in this way I can offload from iCloud! Amazing! Do you think I can watermark, shrink size and then upload again back ? “Backup” so I don’t loose content ?

You can upload any files to iCloud Drive, as long as the size of the individual files does not exceed the size limits. So it will be up to you what you are storing in iCloud. But if you shrink the size of your files, it will not be a full backup, as you will downgrade the quality. And keep backup copies locally on your computer as well.

I am using iCloud more selectively, only storing my most important documents and data there, at the full original quality, but not duplicates, boring, or redundant files.

I have only photos that fill up my iCloud to 80% !

I can offload files on iCloud Drive without problem. 👍

You can free up Mac 🖥️ disk space

You can free up iPhone 📱 disk space

But you can’t free iCloud ☁️ space easily

Would love to see “Offload images from iCloud” feature

download original to external drive and keep only thumbnails on iCloud and synced drives.

kind of what Google photos did but without letting you keep the originals.

Obviously you can’t help me, and I did not ask for anything that you offer in your answers. If you could help you would respond as Léonie. So maybe, just maybe the problem is at your side.

But thx anyway for trying to improve my English trough pointing how horrible you feel about the level I speak.

Am constantly improving and not because of comments like yours.
