OLD STORAGE
Is there any way to open an older external drive that hasn't been opened in 8 to 10 years? It is an Aegis drive w/USB connection. I have a MacBook Air 2.
MacBook Air, macOS 13.2

Use Disk Utility: Disk Utility User Guide for Mac - Apple Support. If the drive does not appear in Disk Utility, then either the hub, the cable, or the drive is not working.
If you had been expecting an icon to appear on the Desktop, that option needs to be selected in the Finder's Settings > General.

You just need a suitable USB cable. The MacBook Air uses USB-C type connectors, so you need that type of connector on one end and whatever the Aegis drive uses at its end.
I have the UBS from the drive in a USB-C hub that connects directly to the computer. Nothing happens-no icon on the screen.
