Is it possible to share my entire contact list with my spouse? I have too many contacts to share one at a time, and updating her list as contact info changes on my list and visa versa is time-consuming. Calendars sync; why not Contacts? Is there a third-party app available that can handle the chore?

Have you tried adding your contact account to your spouse's phone under Settings>Contacts>Add Account?
Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Note that any changes either of you make in the contacts will be synced.
