in-app purchases on deleted app

A long-ago deleted app continues to make daily in-app purchases to my account. How can I stop this? Any idea how this is happening?

I would contact Apple Support for assistance.

This is primarily a user-to-user support forum; other Apple users like you. We don't have access to information about charges to your account. Apple has a support article about charges — see each of the steps in the following instructions. They include information on contacting Apple Support if the other steps don't help: If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support

or go to Subscriptions and Billing - Official Apple Support

If the only indication of the charges is from an email, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information. See information in the Apple articles Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

and Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support

Thanks for the article. The charges are coming daily and are varying amounts although last week they were 3 identical amounts over 2 days. So these aren't subscription charges, but seem to be in-app purchases. I can only imagine it is a scam, but don't know how to confirm that, and it is all confounded by them coming from apps that we legitimately downloaded before later canceling.
