Can’t change payment and shipping info and Apple Pay won’t work.

Tried paying for an app on my iPad for the first time in a couple years. It asks me to verify an old credit card that is no longer in use.

when I go to “settings” then “payment and shipping” the option to “Edit” is greyed out

I set up Apple Pay with my current credit and made sure to verify the card. When I go to the App Store it still forces me to verify the old no longer in service card.

I have restarted my device both before and after I signed out and resigned in with my Apple ID.

The app I wish to buy is only available on iPad so I can’t try purchasing it on my phone then fetching it from the cloud on my iPad.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you. Did you try to simply add a new payment method using the actions provided here: Add a payment method to your Apple ID - Apple Support? If not, try that versus attempting to update or edit an old credit/debit card. If you successfully add the new payment method, you should then be able to delete the old out of date one.
