iMessages disappeared

I just got an iPhone 13 and had everything transferred from an android. The messages from iPhone users haven’t been transferred yet and the new messages I send to iPhone users are disappearing.

Hey there Brittstc,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We're happy to provide some assistance.

To confirm, you transferred your data from an Android to an iPhone by following the actions here?:

Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"Here's what gets transferred: contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, photo albums, files and folders, accessibility settings, display settings, web bookmarks, mail accounts, WhatsApp messages and media, and calendars. If they're available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also transfer. After the transfer completes, you can download any free apps that were matched from the App Store."

Regarding your missing messages, do you use iCloud for Messages? If so, make sure this is turned on:

Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices - Apple Support

"Set up iCloud for Messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or later: Tap Show All, tap Messages, then turn on Sync this [device].

The Messages screen in iCloud settings. Sync this iPhone is turned on.

    • iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or earlier: Turn on Messages.

Any messages currently stored in iCloud are now accessible on your device, and any new messages you receive on your device will be stored in iCloud."

Keep us posted.

Have a great day!
