By default, DuckDuckGo is available as a search engine within Safari, and not as a replacement browser.


DuckDuckGo as a search engine works well locally, particularly as compared with my recent experiences with what the Google search engine returns around ads and around its increasingly SEO’d results.


DDG also has bang syntax, which makes targeted searches less typing. !G, !YT, !IMDB, etc. If the DDG search didn’t find it, add !G to the search, and re-try the same search over on Google.
