Apple ID between 2 countries

Is it possible to keep one Apple ID when going from UK to Canada and just switching region and SIM card locally or am I naïveté?

Hi Kopriva,

This article describes how to change your country setting on everything using your Apple ID, and the requirements and results of doing this:

Read how to "Change your Apple ID country or region", click here --> Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support

Note that the requirements such as ending subscriptions and waiting for them to finish will mean you do not want to do this frequently. It is really intended to be done when you move to a new location for change of residence.

Apple doesn't store data on SIMs, that's just for your cellular provider. As far as the Apple account information is concerned, the SIM doesn't play a role.

You will have to decide how you can best deal with this under your scenario. You could set up a separate ID for the other country, but it isn't easy to transfer data from one account to another. Apple has Family Sharing for doing that but with FS both IDs have to be set to the same country.

If you're like me and have zero subscriptions and zero balance in my Apple Account then signing in and out would be no problem. Old versions of Apple's documents talked about a 90 day wait between country changes but I can't find any mention of that in anything I have read recently.

The other thing you could do would be to just not bother. If you're only in the other place a few months then there's probably not much you absolutely have to update. Technically if you 'live' in another country then you should be using that country's store but if you're moving back and forth then your residency is uncertain. The main issue you might find is if you are using Apple TV and go to another country, others have reported that they may not be able to connect to the place where they have a subscription. This is all kind of indirectly mentioned in this legalese:
