Voice Memo App Stops Play-back when Auto-Lock activates –Any fix for this irritating feature?

Anyone know a way to override the auto-lock/memo-stop-playback feature? I'm a writer and regularly record long memos to playback and review during walks –but, I can't do that anymore due to the auto-lock feature that stops the Voice Memo recording.

This is infuriating –why change an app feature with absolutely no way to opt-out of this useless feature? At Apple, who is actually using the Voice Memo app in their daily lives? Hugely inept update to the Voice Memo app needs to be fixed –revert to pre-IOS 15 or earlier (10.3 was the absolute king!).
