As Apple hasn't sold the iPhone X for four years, it can't be a new phone. It may still have been shrink wrapped when you bought it but that means it has been sitting on a shelf somewhere for years, the battery slowly degrading.

No. It’s not. If it was still factory sealed, it’s been sitting on a shelf for years and the battery has degraded, which is normal for all Lithium-Ion batteries… Get the battery replaced.
