Cannot configure Google Workspace with Okta MFA in Mac Mail

Hi. I've already configured my personal free gmail account in Mac Mail client along with zohomail.

Now I'm trying to configure my corporate Google Workspace email account with Okta MFA in Mac client.


After entering my corporate email ID Okta login window appears


After signing in Okta I directly get this screen.



On clicking on Done the mailbox shows offline and doesn't get configured.

Based on multiple tries I presume issue is due to "Private Browsing" window which does not maintain Okta session.


Also, I noticed after successful authentication of my personal free gmail account I got a google security window which asks me to grant "Allow" access to MacOS which is missing when I try to configure my official Google Workspace account.

You really should consult your employers IT department who manages the Google Workspace / Okta MFA. Contact your Help Desk and open a ticket. They may or may not support connecting via IMAP in Apple Mail. i.e. you might have to only use the web browser to access your Google Workspace. It depends on how the IT department implemented things and how your companies Security department locked things down. There are simply too many factors to consider and only they know how it was configured.
