Note the difference (that Niel mentioned) between the Music application (the thing that plays music on your iPod) and Apple Music (the subscription service).

Music that you have purchased, either as a CD or as digital file (MP3 for example) is yours to keep. This music can be added to an iPod Classic (and other iPods and iPhones).

Music that you obtain through Apple Music cannot be added to an iPod Classic (or a nano or Shuffle). It can be added to an iPhone or iPod Touch and plays in iTunes. Apple music is only available to you (on any of those devices that will play it, as well as iTunes) while you pay the subscription. As soon as you stop paying the subscription, you lose access to all the music you had access to via Apple Music.

Attempts to convert Apple Music (get around the restriction) so that it can be transferred to an iPod Classic would be in breach of the Terms of Use of the subscription. We are not allowed to discuss any methods that bypass the restriction on this Apple forum.
