16.1.1 ipad issues

Since downloading the 16.1.1 update on my ipad, Ive been getting knocked of Apple News, and Adobe Mix and taken back to my home screen. Both are unusable and worked fine for years before I updated 16.1.1. I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem, and if its not the new update causing it what else might it be?

You shouldn't have to remove any other apps.

Just delete the Apple News app, first.

Then, do a forced restart of the iPad, then re-install the Apple News app from the iOS App Store.

See what happens.

If this doesn't work, try Lotus Pilot's other advice concerning disabling iCloud for the Apple news app.

Several reports of issues with the Apple News App, subsequent to updating to iPadOS 16.1.x, have been seen. Deleting and then restarting the iPad prior to reinstalling the News App may help.

Other reports suggest that temporarily disabling News in iCloud will resolve the problem:
