How to Stop Email Notifications in iCloud Calendar

It seems that with the newest update, iCloud calendar now shows notifications for every email I receive. This is exceptionally annoying. Does anyone have a fix for this?

"Receive notifications for calendar and event invitations on iCloud.com


You can receive a notification any time someone invites you to a shared calendar or event.

  1. In Calendar on iCloud.com, click the Show Actions menu in the bottom-left corner, then choose Preferences.
  2. In the Advanced pane, select “In-app notifications,” then click Save."
