No browse or listen now options in iOS music app

I have an active Apple Music subscription but I do not see browse or listen now features in the music app, only search and library. I have restarted the phone and reinstalled the app. It works fine on my Mac.

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Hello Scot8oy,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to make sure you're able to access all of the features available in Apple Music.

We see you viewed the Apple Support page for Listen to music and more in the Apple Music app - Apple Support

You won't see the Browse option if you're using the Apple Music Voice Plan, detailed here:

"Find new music with Apple Music on iPhone

In the Music app , Apple Music subscribers can browse new and noteworthy music, music videos, playlists, and more.

Note: Browsing isn’t available in the Apple Music Voice Plan. For more information, see the Apple Support article About Apple Music Voice."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Find new music with Apple Music on iPhone - Apple Support

If this is not the cause of the issue, check for any pending iOS updates, which can help make sure the software is working as expected. This Apple Support page can help get those updates installed: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

"Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

We hope this helps to get Apple Music performing as it should.

Cheers!

Hi, thanks for the answer. I didn’t realise there was a plan that didn’t allow browsing.

However, I am currently on a trial of an individual plan. My phone is up to date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the music app. I have logged out and logged in to some on my phone.

the music app still only down My Library, with no ability to browse or stream non-library music.

Currently, I won’t be extending my trial since it really shouldn’t be this hard to see Apple Music.

thanks again for your support
