iPhone 8 died-data transfer

iPhone died recently. No damage it was just old and stopped powering up. I had to get another phone and it’s connected. Would I still be able to get the data, pics, contacts from the old phone. It has not been backed up for a year

Hello,

You might be able to get old iPhone 8 powered up. See this:

1) Make sure that it is charged: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge

2) Won't turn on: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

If you can't get it going, the only option is to restore from a backup that contained the data. Perhaps iCloud backups were active that you were unaware. See this:

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Good luck.
