A friend just bought a new iPhone and is giving me her old iPhone 8. I want to buy a longer charging cord, but I need to know the connector on the charger block (the bit that plugs into the wall). Is it USB2, firewire or USB C?

If it is the charge cube that was included with the iPhone when it was purchased, it will be a USB-A connection to a Lightning connection at the phone end.
