Brand-new USB-C VGA Multiport-adapter not working on a brand-new M1 Pro Macbook Pro 14"

As the titles states. Have tried all kinds of troubleshooting online.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.6

I tried connecting the hub to my MacBook but no alert was given (nor did any other device I tested it on). Several peripherals, such as a wireless mouse, wired earphones, USB sticks, etc., didn't work with the USB-A and USB-C included ports. The VGA-port has not been put to test yet, but from all these tests, the hub appears to be faulty.
