After using Google Maps through Car Play my friends could not be found and my position was not reported in the Apple apps. I turned my device phone off and on and still had this problem. When I joined Car Play again and switched to Apple Maps this problem went away. This seems to be a bug.

The problem persisted when the power was cycled off on the phone. This is an Apple problem.
