IPad not syncing with IPhone nor receiving messages.

I can send messages with my iPad but I am not receiving them. And my phone is not syncing with my iPad — the messages I send with my phone are not appearing on my iPad. I went to Settings->Messages and my email is listed, then it says Sign In but it is not highlighted so I can click on it. Below that is says Create a New Apple ID. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you have an iPhone - and both iPad and iPhone are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID - to send SMS/MMS messages (green bubbles) from your iPad you must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone...


On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.


Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
