Family sharing not working

I’m trying to share my new purchase of AppleOne and it says I’m already part of a family. But the other family name is me! I’ve checked all my devices for the same Apple ID login and they’re all the same. A very long time ago, I had a different AppleID but no longer have that device.

iPad Air 3, iPadOS 15

Sometimes it helps to have the devices involved take a fresh look at settings:

- Try signing out of accounts and back in again.

- Restarting is a simple step that can resolve many unexpected behaviors.

If a problem persists, particularly over several days, try contacting Apple for assistance:

Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

or:

"See a list of Apple phone numbers around the world."

Click here --> Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

Incidentally, Apple IDs are not device specific. I have had the same Apple ID for almost 25 years and many different items of equipment. Is it possible you set up Family Sharing from the other account? You only need one Apple ID unless you have a very, very good reason to have a second one and know how to handle things in that situation.
