Apple TV
What is there to prevent using the Apple TV box to be able to stream SKY TV instead of having two boxes, permissions from Sky of coarse.

Sky Go App is free & available for Mac/PC/iPad but you must be a Sky Subscriber to use it.
One other thing I should have mentioned when using with Apple TV - there is no access to Recordings.
To be clear, my set up is:
Main TV connected to Sky Q Box to Satellite is business as usual.
Second TV now connected to Apple TV HD 32 GB using Sky Go App.
Apple TV replaced Sky Q Mini Box & two Sky Booster Boxes.
This is a Multi-Room Sky Subscription via a single Sky feed.
Obviously there are some limitations.
Personally I can live with minor inconveniences.

I was referring specifically to Sky Go on the Apple TV.
BBC Channels are available via Sky Q main satellite box or on the host TV or via BBC iPlayer.
AirPlay is unavailable with Sky Go from any Apple device, so far as I can see.
Nor did it work on Chromebooks or Chromecast.
All Channels are viewable on MacBook/iPad etc via Sky Go App, just not on a big TV screen.
If anyone has got this to work then please tell us.
Replaced multi-room Sky Mini Box & two Sky Boosters with new Apple TV HD 32 GB (don't need 4K).
Works well with minor irritations.
Removed Amazon Prime Stick & replaced with Google Chromecast.
Use Apple TV for Apple Media, Amazon Prime, Sky Go & YouTube.
Sky Go on Apple TV is missing Channels. eg. BBC, Talking Pictures #328.
However, can view these from the main Sky Q Box or on PC/Mac/iPad.
There is no easy cast/mirror from mobile devices to the TV, so far as I can see.
Not perfect but that's IT life !
Aha !
Apple TV A1469 3rd Gen does not support App Store so no joy.
Bit the bullet and ordered latest Apple TV.
Anything to get rid of Sky Q Mini Boxes & Boosters !

BBC: get the BBC iPlayer app - App Store preview - Apple (GB)
Talking Pictures seems to require Sky, Virgin, Freeview, Freesat, or YouView. Satellite, cable, OTA, or web. No app at this time.

If you have iPhone or iPad, then you can use AirPlay to stream from mobile. Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
For Android, use the Chromecast (Google Cast) capability of the TV or Chromecast device.
Sky UK customers can use the Sky Go app on the Apple TV box.
Apple TV A1469 3rd Gen does not show Sky as an option although I believe it's supported.
Sky Go is installed on several iPads & works well.
However, want to use Apple TV as replacement for the Sky Mini & Booster boxes which are dreadful.
Any bright ideas ? What am I missing ?
Or should I bite the bullet & just buy the latest Apple TV ?
Is there a Sky Go App specifically by Sky that is free or just a Sky programmes guide?
