Odd question:email iPhone vs Mac

Does the proximity of an iPhone affect how email is received on a desktop Mac?

it should not, proximity should only affect if the mac would also receive calls when the iphone rings

There are filters that can be set for the Mac version of Apple Mail that are simply not available for iPhone.
