I recently upgraded to Sierra and have been experiencing a very annoying issue. When I create a new folder using the keyboard shortcut and then start typing the name for the new folder, the first 1 or 2 letters do not register. When I was using the previous OS version (10.10) I did not have this issue, ever. Any idea how to fix?

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...
