I purchased a 2013 MacBook Pro. I wanted to download my music but I keep getting this notification pop up saying I need to transfer the device to my Apple ID, when I click the transfer button, it says error. I’m not sure how to fix this issue.

Can't download music - transfer device from other Apple ID - temporary problem 1001 I'm trying to download my Apple Music playlists on my Mac. When I'm trying to do the same on iPhone or iPad, everything works fine. But when I try to download the playlists on my Mac, it says that the device is linked to another Apple ID and that I need to transfer it. But when I press transfer, the following error message is shown: "There was a temporary problem completing your request. An unknown error occurred (1001) - try again later". I saw this article so I asked the previous owner to remove the computer from his Apple Music. He removed the laptop but the message is still there. I tried to google for a solution but found no answer so I hope someone here can help me resolve this.

Repurposing old MacBook; can't log into music with apple id Repurposing wife's old MacBook to hold my extensive collection of music downloaded from CDs. I am trying to sync to my phone which has more than 5000 songs. I have used my Apple ID on this computer, switching the computer from my wife's apple ID. That is working fine, except now when I try and login to the music app, nothing happens. I enter the User ID and the password and it seems to work fine, except when I click on account, the sign in is still dark letters and my apple ID is not shown as being signed in. I don't get an error message. When I click on the authorize line, I go back to the sign in box, I get "There was a temporary problem completing your request. Try again later. Ideas? Thank you!

Did the former owner erase the computer and set it up again? If not, you need to do that to make it 'your' computer. Start with step 7.
