iTunes/OS incompatibility what to do

Daughter has a Macbook Pro 13" 2012 model, running 10.10.5.

Trying to connect her iPhone to iTunes (12.8.1.3) gives the "To use your iPhone with iTunes, you need to install OS X 10.11.4 (or later)." message. Unfortunately, 10.11 isn't supported on her hardware.

Is there no way for her to backup her iPhone through iTunes and using 10.10.5?

Thanks,

-Robert

No. She can however backup to iCloud.

When I look up that spec it suggests the max. OS should be 10.15 Catalina. Are you sure upgrading isn't an option? See How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support if required.
