Can you share AirTags with family members?

Can you share AirTags with family members? Example: Dog gets one on his collar and gets out. Be nice if both could go round it up. Make certain ones that will do this, color coded type thing maybe.

Why can’t AirTags be shared? My husband and I bought AirTags to put on our animal’s collars so we can keep track of them in case one accidentally got out. I couldn’t find my cat the other day and my husband wasn’t home and the AirTag is connected to his ID so I had to bother him at work just to find out my cat found a new hiding spot while barely giving me a heart attack. Is there any good reason why we can’t share the AirTag together or any plans to remedy this in the future?

AirTag family sharing We bought an AirTag today for our cat. What looked to be the perfect device turned out to be relatively useless because only one of family can actually look up the AirTag and find our cat. Assumptions are the mother…. Assuming Apple would give people the opportunity to share AirTags with family for shared items, like a cat.. Does anybody know if Apple has this functionality on their roadmap somewhere?

Can you use air tags with family sharing? My wife set up an AirTag and unlike all the other devices in my family it doesn’t show up on my find my. Am I missing anything or do the AirTags not share across the family?
