Updating macOS and Office 2011

I am planning to update the macOS on my MacBook Pro from Mojave to Monterey. I am running Microsoft Office 2011 currently and understand that 1. this is no longer supported by Microsoft and 2. as this is a 32 bit application it is not supported by macOS. I will take out a subscription to Microsoft 365 as I can continue to use the Office apps both on my laptop and iOS devices. My question is should I uninstall Microsoft Office 2011? And is uninstalling simply a question of dragging the Microsoft Office 2011 folder to the trash and restarting my laptop? It almost sounds too simple. Am I missing anything. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance! 😃

You might consider one of these two, open source, free apps: LibreOffice and SoftMaker FreeOffice 2018.  Both can open, edit and save Word documents in Word format or their own format. And the price is right.
