Some apps not connecting to the Internet on Wi-Fi or data

Hi,

since about 2 days Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are not loading (no internet connection error) and links from email are not opening in Safari (so random!). I’ve already tried everything - restarting my phone, reinstalling the apps, resetting network settings, VPN is disabled but I deleted the profiles anyway, I’ve installed recent (15.5) update (the problem was before and after update). Weirdly enough the problem happens both on WiFi and cellular data (!) and it’s only some apps while other are working fine. Even weirder, the notifications are still working (Facebook, Instagram , Pinterest) but when I try to go to the app - same problem as before.

Any ideas? And please don’t paste in response the standard script for iPhone/Wi-Fi network issues - just read what I said - the problem is with some apps, not all - problem is both on Wi-Fi and data. Thanks!!

Ok, mystery solved. I’ve installed this stupid app that changed my DNS settings.. I wonder only why didn’t it rest my dns settings when I did network settings reset! DNS is definitely part of network settings!

Hi basiayanez,

Are you seeing the alert "No internet Connection" when navigating to Settings > Wi-Fi?

If so, you can tap the (i) or Wi-Fi network name to get more information. Also, be sure your router settings are correct with the steps here: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

You could also test a normal restart of your Wi-Fi router.

If the issue continues and the settings are set to the recommended ones in the article, test a different Wi-Fi network.

If the issue continues, reach out to Apple Support directly to further assist.

Thx, I appreciate that but I only have issue with certain (Meta?) apps not all of them (no Internet error is only on the apps, not under Wi-Fi settings). And the problem is not only on Wi-Fi but also on cellular data. Also, my husband’s phone (Samsung/android) works fine on the same Wi-Fi connection (as was my phone up to couple of days ago!!) - how is it the router issue?
