CardDAV password error

Just recently my iphone 7 (ios 15.5) has been saying my CardDAV password is incorrect when I make or change a contact entry. I have no idea what that password is, and my google account password doesn't work. I hit "cancel" twice, the error message disappears. However, the entry or change still happens, and it still syncs to my macbook pro and my other devices. I would like to either be able to enter or change this CardDAV password. Can I delete the CardDAV account? If I create a new CardDAV account will it duplicate all of my contacts everywhere? Please help if you can! Thank you very much.
