You are not the first to have noticed the apparent loss of the Search function from the Safari’s Sidebar Reading List. We have no idea if this was an intentional change by Apple, or is a bug.
At this time, we assume that this is a bug - and are advising anyone experiencing this issue to submit a Bug Report to Apple using the Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:
When submitting you report, please ensure that you include details of your iPad model and the installed version of iPadOS in the body of your report. Please don’t rely upon the OS-version pick-list, as this is rarely up to date.
Until such time as Apple receive a sufficient number of reports, Apple are perhaps unlikely to assign resources to correct the issue. Your report matters - and may just be the one that prompte Apple to investigate and correct the issue.

@ LotusPilot
Many thanks for your really fast answer. I did what you said. I submitted a "Bug report" to Apple.
Have a nice day.
You’re very welcome. Thank you for submitting the bug report to Apple.
