My upgrade from Mojave to Monterey is stuck at one more minute
What can I do to get past this point it seems like it is stalled ? thank you
there is plenty of room all apps closed etc

The install can take some time, with several black screen reboots along the way.
If it is unreasonable, and you are truly stuck you can force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 seconds.
Force Shut down your Mac.
ref: Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac
Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support
Then reboot as normal and see where this leaves you... In many cases this is all it takes.
if you still have an issue, try stair stepping up to macOS Catalina/ or Big Sur first, before trying your Monterey.

verify you are using the Safari browser to download/initiate the macOS links.

If the upgrade to Monterey fails and you end up back on Mojave, I recommend that your incremental upgrade to Monterey by going to Catalina, then Big Sur and finally to Monterey. Other uses have experienced problem skipping macOS version like you.
