iPhone or iPad not Automatically Updating IOS

I am running the IOS version prior to 15.5. The updates to 15.5 did not happen automatically eventhough these two devices were set to update automatically. I always keep IOS up to date, so there is no gap in updates.

Well, today is now May 29th and neither my iPhone or iPad has updated, nor has my husband’s. We get a message everyday saying it will tonight but the next morning we get message saying it wasn’t installed. They are plugged in and ready but not updating. No reason given.

iOS 15.5 just came out a couple of days ago, Apple does not have the bandwidth to push the update to millions of phones all at once, you may have to wait a few days for it to push or you can update it yourself.
