cannot verify server certificate

Ultimately, it was my Netgear Armour app that prevented access to the servers. I deleted it and will reinstall. All mail programs no work. So, if you get this certificate error, check your Network Apps that might prevent access.

That’s a problem with the site. Nothing you can do about it until they fix it, unless it is a certificate for a calendar you subscribed to that has now expired. Go to Settings/Calendar/Accounts/Subscribed Calendars and see if there are any that should be deleted.
Thanks for the heads up! If you have that app on your iPhone get rid of it permanently. It does nothing useful that iOS doesn’t do already, and, as you discovered, it can cause unusual problems.
