Card listed as both on iCloud and On My Mac

Hello. Some of my contacts listed in macOS Contacts show both on iCloud and On My Mac. Others don't. Does this mean my iCloud Contacts are out of sync with my laptop? If so, how do I bring both lists into sync?

what's the best way to merge contact cards in Contacts For some reason, I have some cards in the On My Mac section of Contacts that don't show up in my iCloud contacts on my desktop. First of all, I don't know how that happened, but would like to know so I don't keep doing it. Secondly, how can I locate all the contacts that exist only On My Mac so I can copy or move them to my iCloud contacts? Wouldn't having all my contacts available in iCloud be preferable? I don't really see a reason to only have them On My Mac. Thanks.

Duplicate contact cards I have duplicate cards in my contact list. If I remove one the other will also disappear. I have tried merging duplicates but that doesn't help. The duplicate cards don't show up in iCloud or on my iPhone, only in contacts on my iMac.

Disappearing contacts in iPhone AND iCloud. IOS 14.8 Cards regularly go missing from Contacts on my iPhone SE (current model). They are also missing from my iCloud account. But they remain in Contacts on my MBP. Synching, resetting or rebooting doesn't help. The only work-around is sharing the card from the computer to the phone . Contacts missing on the phone are also missing on my 2 iPads and also have to be restored by sharing the contacts from the MBP. A major problem because I never know what's missing until I need it. Grateful for any insights.

We understand your iCloud contacts aren't fully synced with your Mac. Take a look at the steps and information in this article to correct the issue.

If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync

Never mind. Turns out I had a separate Contacts list “On My Mac” that needed deleting. ‘Problem’ solved.
