If you don't your passcode, depending on what iPadOS you are running the following applies:

If you are running at least iPadOS 15.2, you can reset the passcode by following the directions in this link --> How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support
If you are not running at least iPadOS 15.2, you will need to erase your iPad using your home computer by following the directions in this link --> If you forgot your iPad passcode - Apple Support
