Permissions on M1 MacBook

I am trying to run some scientific software (EasyCodeML). My computer (M1 MacBook with Monterey) keeps refusing to run the program because the publisher is unidentified. How do I run the software anyway, since I know for a fact the program is safe?

run or launch the software?


Hold the Control key>Open


Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer - Apple Support
