Airplay unable to connect to Homepod mini since the recent iOS 15.4.1 update

The airplay on my iPhone 12 Max Pro and iPad (8th gen) stopped working since the recent updates (15.4 and 15.4.1). I've searched everywhere on Apple forum, YouTube, and googled this issue to assist me on the troubleshooting. I've done a network reset on the HomePod through the Home app. I've uninstalled the Homepod from the Home app then a hard reset on the HomePod several times. Airplay still won't connect. Wifi is on the same network. Siri works fine on all devices but I can't get this Airplay to connect to the HomePod. Could someone help me with this?

Ive done everything. I restarted my modem, i restarted all devices and checked all updates. It’s nothing wrong with my network on any of my devices (iPhone, AppleTV, HomePod, iPad). Airplay doesn’t work at all. I can mirror my screen on AppleTV but the airplay won’t connect to the HomePods. Something is wrong with the recent software update.

Hey there Supa Chris,

You've mentioned something really important. You've narrowed down that it's working on one network but not the other. Let's see if the info included here helps out. Begin here with the network that isn't working:

"Before changing the settings on your router

  1. Back up your router's settings, in case you need to restore them.
  2. Update the software on your devices. This is critical to ensure that your devices have the latest security updates and work best with each other.
  1. On each device that previously joined the network, you might need to forget the network to ensure that the device uses the router's new settings when rejoining the network."

This is found in Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points. We wanted to start here to make sure prior to checking the router settings, you've got this important section handled. Once finished, move to the section "Router settings" to see if updating this will help with the specific network that is not staying connected.

This should resolve your issue. If it doesn't, then please Apple Support. They'd be able to assist you further.

Kind regards.

I’m using Arris SBG7600AC2 router. I logged into my network setting on the modem. Under the setup in the Wireless 2.4 GHz tab, the security mode on my main network is showing “WPA2-PSK(AES). The channel is set to “11”, AP isolation is checked and Enable WMM checked. The firmware version is 9.1.103AA85. I don’t see an option for me to update the firmware or check to see if the update is current.
