Final Cut Pro not loading or Rendering Wav files

I can hear the audio clearly but Final Cut Pro isn’t rendering the audio Wav files which is kind of annoying. When I edit I have to basically just rely on when the sound plays. Also when I have two recordings one with video and one that’s going to be used for actual audio and I need to line them up, it’s hard because I can’t just find the wave sizes then line them up, I have to use the sound to line them up which is kind of annoying. I was wondering if someone could help me with that.

Thanks,

Vitaliy

What Mac, macOS version and FCP version? There was a problem in 10.6 rendering audio waveforms that I believe was fixed in 10.6.1.

What are the specs of the WAV files? Can you open one in QuickTime Player and take a screenshot of the Inspector window? It will look something like this:

Whenever FCP crashes or starts acting strangely an easy thing to try is resetting the preferences. Hold option and command while launching FCP and choose Delete Preferences. It will open the default Untitled library. Re-open the library you were working on, set the preferences back to the way you like them (disable background rendering, reset Import to Leave Files in Place, etc.) and see if the issue has been resolved.

Have you tried deleting the cache? Select the library in the browser, choose File->Delete Generated Library Files... Choose All Render files. Manage render files in Final Cut Pro - Apple Support

Hi Tom, I’m having the same issue. I’m running 10.6.1 on a 2017 MacBook Pro. Ever since upgrading the waveforms have taken forever to load in the timeline and when I zoom in, they have to reload all over again. This was literally never an issue before. I just opened the app and deleted the preferences- still no waveforms showing. This has stopped my editing progress cold. Please help.

Your system drive is completely useless if I’m reading it correctly. It’s very far past being full. It’s a very small drive and probably needs a minimum of 18GBB free space. The OS should be updated. You have Chrome and the keystone daemons that need to be wiped. You probably shouldn’t be running Paragon software with that system.
